During June we lift up to God the needs of those around the world and in the U.S. who are victims of human trafficking.  Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery.  This crime occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against his/her will.  Traffickers take advantage of vulnerable persons with false promises or physical abduction, forcing them into contract slavery, forced labor and sexual trafficking.  Pray that our compassionate and loving God would send His Comforter to those trafficked persons, to ease their fears, loneliness and physical pain, and to give them hope and help to escape.  Pray for mission projects that raise awareness, restore shattered lives, and for anti-human trafficking projects including those which stop trafficking before it occurs and provide refuge and counseling for those affected.  Pray also that God will enable us to reach out in love and mercy and to seek ways to free those in captivity.
